BASIC FACTS

Stress and environmental toxins subject us to a constant «barrage» with free radicals – molecules which are in a state of chemical imbalance and therefore very reactive. They always try to form new compounds in order to attain a chemical balance. They are generated by cigarette smoke, X-rays, UV rays of the sun, by nitrite residues in food, etc.

Stress has a reinforcing effect on their generation since permanent stress reduces the body’s ability to defend itself. Free radicals lead to oxidation processes which aggressively attack the cells. They accelerate tissue degeneration and are considered the main culprits for the negative manifestations of age. They moreover seem to be responsible for a faster course of certain diseases such as asthma, atherosclerosis, cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease and a number of inflammatory processes. They also play an important role in allergies and diseases of the skin.

Free radicals are, however, also necessary for the organism as, among other things, they are used by the defense cells of the immune system to combat pathogens. Under normal circumstances, our organism can keep the share of free radicals within limits and regulate them by the body’s own enzymes.

Many environmental influences such as cigarette smoke, radiation, false nutrition, etc. cause a surplus in free radicals which then also attack and destroy the healthy cells. In such a case the body needs help in the form of an additional intake of antioxidants which counteract the harmful oxidation process. Such substances are enzymes, the vitamins C, E, B, OPC, catechins and trace elements. It is, however, hardly possible to take them up in sufficient quantities with the food as to some extent the quality of foodstuffs keeps deteriorating and also because of one-sided nutrition.

EFFECTS

With Antoplex^® we have for the first time a preparation containing the most important antioxidants in the correct relationship to each other. By combining many active ingredients, a «broad range preparation» is created which unites the advantages of the individual substances. Even more than that – the individual ingredients reinforce their mutual effects. It is no longer necessary to take many different preparations, or only necessary in case of certain indications. In detail, the various effects are as follows:

Vitamin E: A fat-soluble vitamin. Its biochemical function has not yet been fully explained, but vitamin E probably has a direct membrane-protecting effect and an influence on protein synthesis and on functions in the neuromuscular system. Its antioxidative effect and ability to render aggressive oxygen radicals innocuous, however, is well-investigated and documented.

Co-enzyme Q10: With increasing age, the organism no longer produces sufficient quantities of the co-enzyme Q10. This leads to a deficiency which may be primarily responsible for heart diseases. The co-enzyme Q10 acts as an antioxidant on cell level and is the most important of all known co-enzymes.

Alpha lipoic acid: is a vitamin-like antioxidant and is also called the «universal antioxidant» because it is both fat-soluble and water-soluble.

Vitamin C: (ascorbic acid) is a water-soluble vitamin and strong antioxidant. One of the most important functions of ascorbic acid is to protect LDL cholesterol against oxidative damage. Moreover, vitamin C is one of the key substances of the body’s own synthesis of the tissue-building substance collagen.

Folic acid: (vitamin B11) is necessary for DNA synthesis and therefore responsible for the development of cells. Folic acid acts on all fast-dividing tissues and supports their regeneration.

Biotin: is involved in the processing of fat and amino acids from our food. Sufficient quantities of biotin provide healthy nails and hair.

Ginkgo biloba: has antioxidative properties and protects nerve cells. The active components inhibit the so-called platelet activating factor (PAF), which causes blood platelets to clump. A PAF that is too high damages nerve cells and affects the blood flow to the central nervous system. Ginkgo biloba also positively regulates tonus and elasticity of the blood vessels, which in turn leads to a better circulation both in the big vessels and the microvessels.

Vitamin B6: (pyridoxine) plays an important role in cell division and renewal. It is involved in the production of amino acids as well as of all important neurotransmitters for the brain, as for instance serotonin, dopamine and noradrenalin.

Selenium: an essential trace element belonging to the group of the chalcogenes, is contained in bones and teeth. Selenium is part of the glutathione peroxidase, which, together with vitamin E, sulphur-containing amino acids and catalase, acts against lipidoxidation in membranes and as such prevents the formation of many cell-damaging products, and also has anticancerogenic effects.

Quercetin chalcon: a compound belonging to the flavonoids, which also acts as an antioxidant.

OPC: Oligomeric procyanidins, which are among the most powerful antioxidants, enhance the effects of vitamins C and E. They are effective both in aqueous and fatty environments and protect connective tissue and vascular membranes in the whole body. Collagen and elastin are strengthened.

Green tea extract: Green tea contains volatile oils, vitamins, minerals and caffeine as well as great quantities of active substances which are the secret of its positive effect. The extract is one of the most powerful antioxidants and most efficient radical catchers that exist.

Antiaging/Immune system: Antoplex^® may slow the natural aging process and prevent – both physical and mental – premature age-related damage. Antoplex^® supports fiber synthesis in the cells of the body and in this way may slow the inevitable aging of tissues. It could also be proven that it has a positive effect on the immune system and therefore also provides better protection against infection and in stressful circumstances.

Allergies: Many scientists believe that the increasing environmental pollution and free radicals are the main causes for the increase in the number of allergies. Antoplex^® suppresses the effect of the so-called mast cells – immune cells responsible for most of the symptoms in allergic reactions.

DOSAGE

In normal cases take one capsule each in the morning and evening with plenty of fluid.

SIDE EFFECTS/CONTRAINDICATIONS

If taken according to the instructions, no contraindications are known in healthy persons. The blood levels of certain medications may be influenced by the active ingredients contained in Antoplex^®. The preparation should therefore only be taken under the supervision and according to the instructions of a doctor.

INSTRUCTIONS

Generally a specialist should be consulted before the intake of food supplements and self-medication is not recommended. This is particularly applicable in case of chronic diseases or during regular intake of medication. If you experience symptoms during the intake of Antoplex^®, you should consult a doctor and inform him/her of the intake.

In the first few days of Antoplex^® intake, the pronounced antioxidative effect may lead to an increased excretion of toxic substances (heavy metals, pesticides, ...). This at first causes a feeling of indisposition, which, however, disappears after three to four days and is replaced by a surge of vitality.
